What is Summerween?: Gravity Falls celebration
Did you know that in Gravity Falls people love Halloween so much that they celebrate it twice a year? And it’s today! Every June 22 jack-o’-melons light up and the people of the town go out trick-or-treating.
Gravity Falls 1×12
On the 12 episode of the first season of Gravity Falls we learn about this local holiday. While Mabel and Dipper are planning the night Soos tells them about the Summerween Trickster, a local monster that eats every children that lacks of “summerween spirit”.
Thanks to the third journal and Dipper we know that he’s tall with a stretchy body made of nightmares and taffy, gets offended easily (considering is a 13 ft monster he could be less touchy), has a raspy voice that according to Grenda, one of Mabel friends, is “SUPER HOT” (we’re worried abut her), can morph his body and rips his clothes every time he does.
The Summerween trickster challenge the gang to collect 500 pieces of candy before the last jack-o’-melon lights out. This is because Dipper is lacking of “summerween spirit” because he wants to go to a party that Wendy and Robbie attending instead of going trick-or-treating with Mable, Soos, Grenda, and Candy.
I will not say other spoiler about the episode for those who in spirit of Summerween want to see it. Gravity Falls is available in Hulu and Disney+, I suggest that you stay in the spirit of the holiday if you don’t want to be eaten by the Summerween Trickster.
