Of all the four films of the franchise this is the one that feels more legit. The way that is filmed and special effects are able to mimic to perfection how a VHS film from 1994 would look like today. Sometimes the camera is even out of focus and glitches, making it more real.
The stories are good with a lot of gore, strange events, and body horror. After the bad reception that had V/H/S: Viral this one is able to bring back the franchise. Only time will tell if a sequel would come.
