The horrors of modern dating seen through one young woman’s defiant battle to survive her new boyfriend’s unusual appetites.

Official plot

The film follows Noah who after meeting Steve on a grocery store, soon will realize that her new boyfriend has an unusual appetite. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2022 were it received positive reviews. It was released on Hulu on March 4, 2022 on the United States and Latin America. It’s expected to be released on the UK on March 18, 2022.

My opinion

Online dating can be enough horror for some. But meeting someone on a grocery store, having one date, and then leaving with him on a trip can become the worst nightmare. Moral of the story: never leave on a trip with someone you just meet.

I would describe this film in 3 words: fun, great acting, and satisfying. Edgar-Jones and Stan create an enjoyable couple to watch. The only downside of the film is the lack of body horror. The plot had the potential to show more blood but sometimes less is better. This is the perfect film for people that are interested in movies about cannibalism but can’t handle the insane amount of blood that comes with it.
