My opinion
What do you get when you combine The Babadook (2016) and Hereditary (2018)? The psychological horror film Run Rabbit Run. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work well for the film since it makes it look generic and non original. Relying way too much on well known horror tropes and generational trauma it turns repetitive unable to be saved by Snook and LaTorre performances.
Sarah Snook, who appeared in the HBO drama series Succession, and Lily LaTorre can only do as much as the script allows them. With a running time of 1 hour and 40 minutes the story turns more and more unrealistic and by the 30 minutes mark a lot and nothing has happened. The film is unable to provoke any type of emotion of fear, shock, or interest even with the final scenes. Run Rabbit Run is a horror film that had a lot of potential but unfortunately it wasn’t well used.
