Happy 74st Birthday Jason! – Friday the 13th

On Friday, June 13th, 1946 Jason was born in the small town of Crystal Lake in New Jersey. His parents are Elias and Pamela Voorhees. Pamela raised Jason on her own and kept him isolated due to his face deformity and hydrocephalus. During de summer of 1957 Pamela was hired to work at Camp Crystal Lake as a cooker and because she didn’t have someone to take care of Jason she brought him to the camp.

The kids at the camp were always making fun of Jason and he decided to escape but the group pushed him to the lake and drown. The counselors that were responsible for the kids at the moment were having sex, an enough distraction to not hear a boy screaming for his mother at the lake. After this, the camp closed for the rest of the summer and Jason’s body was never found. Next summer the counselors that were responsible of Jason’s death were killed and the camp closed again.

Over the years they tried to re-open but something was always wrong and the camp got the nickname of Camp Blood. Also a legend around Jason and his death being the responsible for the curse was born.

“There’s a legend around here. A killer buried, but not dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse. Jason Voorhees’ curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him… No one can. People forget he’s down there, waiting…”

Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood

21 years later the camp was preparing to re-open once again but only one counselor survive the tragedy of the night of Friday, June 13th, 1979. That night is revealed that Jason’s mom Pamela is responsible not only of all the “wrong things” disabling the camp to re-open but the murders. She seeks for revenge for the death of her loving son. Alice, the survivor, kills Pamela but the curse has just begun.

Jason’s connection to his mother was so strong that after her death he could hear her on his head. On revenge for her death Jason killed everyone in or near the camp. To this day Jason is the slasher monster who has killed the most people, 161 to be exact. Today we celebrate 74 years of a special boy who lost his mom and became and unstoppable killer machine. Some people believe that Jason is death but I wouldn’t be so sure, he’s probably still out there.
