Rating: 1 out of 5.

A summer can change everything, lies can break friendships, and secrets will haunt you forever. Based on the novel of the same name published in 1973 this Amazon Prime Original will take us to the summer that changed the lives of a group of friends in Hawaii. This new adaptation is created by Sara Goodman and stars Madison Iseman as Allison and Lennon. It premiered on Amazon Prime Video on October 15, 2021 and ended on November 12, 2021.

The story follows a group of teenagers who hit and kill someone with their car. They then dispose of the body, only to discover a year later that someone knows what they did. … It turned out that the fisherman the teens hit with their car hadn’t died like they originally thought.

Official plot

My Opinion

Eight episodes that never seems to make sense of answer any question that you could have. The only part that was take from the novel is the accident, the rest is completely changed. New characters and location that doesn’t make any good to the story. Each one of the characters are unlikeable, self absorbed, and the worst type of friends that could ever find. Even the parents are questionable, it looks as no one is actually a good person here.

The horror element is also inexistent, it feels more like a teen drama rather than teen horror. If you expected for this series to have the slasher vibe then you’ll be disappointed. The series ended on an open ending leaving way too many questions than answers but not in a good way. Instead of creating interest on seeing a second season it leaves you feeling like you just waisted 8 hours of your life.

This is by far the worst horror series of the year and that I have ever seen. This is a 1/5 or a 2/10, the worst of the worst.
