Being the new kid in town and attempting to form connections is always challenging, especially when your favorite spot is the cemetery. Yet, this unusual setting can lead to friendships and love emerging from the realm of death. What starts as an electrical accident soon evolves into a love story that defies the boundaries between life and death.

The film, set in the 80s, skillfully incorporates the music, fashion, and neon colors typical of that era. Drawing inspiration from “Heathers” and “Edward Scissorhands”, the movie possesses a unique charm, even though it falls short in terms of a coherent storyline and humor that truly tickles your funny bone. While it may provoke a few outbursts of laughter, if this humor style isn’t your cup of tea, you might find yourself awkwardly staring at an imaginary camera.

At the end of the day, Lisa Frankenstein is an electrifying romantic horror comedy with nods to classic monsters, ideal for teens and Valentine’s Day. If you want to have a good time at the movies during the month of love and friendship, don’t pass up the opportunity to see the latest adaptation of a classic monster on the big screen.
