Spiral: From the Book of Saw spoiler free review
Jigsaw is back! Spiral: From the Book of Saw is the ninth and first reboot of the Saw franchise. A new story and new traps are here. This is a spoiler free review. But if you want a longer review and with spoilers go and watch my video on my YouTube Channel!
The official plot of the film is: “Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran, brash detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks and his rookie partner William Schenk take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly trapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.“
The review
And hour and half movie that goes as if it was running a marathon. The plot moves on a fast pase sometimes not giving the appropriate time to create tension and excitement. The biggest flaw of the movie are the trap scenes. They’re cut half way true to show what’s happening at the same time but this is not done well. It cuts out any type feeling that you could have by watching it.
On the other hand the trailer doesn’t do justice to the film. This movie has potential to be a good one. I’m not going to say that is the best out there because that would be exaggerating but saying is the worst would be a lie.
The motives of the killer are completely different from the original movies. Here the killer just want to kill corrupt police officers not people that aren’t grateful for their lives. Also, the movie tries to be funny but it doesn’t work, it just makes it cringe.
In general the movie could have been worst but it works on its own way. I give the movie a 6/10 or a 3/5. I think that is worth watching it and enjoying it on a movie theater.
