The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It spoiler free review
Ed and Lorraine Warren are back. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is the eight movie of The Conjuring Universe. And the third that features Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as the demonologist couple. The movie follow the case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, the first person to declare innocent by demonic possession in court. This review will be spoiler free. My review with spoilers is down below.
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren take on one of the most sensational cases of their careers after a cop stumbles upon a dazed and bloodied young man walking down the road. Accused of murder, the suspect claims demonic possession as his defense, forcing the Warrens into a supernatural inquiry unlike anything they’ve ever seen before.
Official plot
The Devil Made Me Do It
The movie tells the case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson who was accused of murder. To give a little back ground story Arne had a girlfriend called Debbie who had a little brother David. David had an exorcism, according to the movie on July 18, 1981, because he became the host of a demon. The Warrens and a priest perform the exorcism and everything looks okay. But during the exorcism the demon possessed Arne. The next day he reports sick to his work and stays with his girlfriend at her work. The next thing is that Arne killed the landlord and owner of the place by stabbing him 22 times. From this moment on the Warrens will do anything on their power to prove to the Supreme Court that Arne was possessed and innocent of the crime.
My Opinion
The movie is 1 hour and 52 minutes long, and it does feel like a long movie. The movie itself is not an outstanding movie, it doesn’t really have something special. If you were expecting to see how the trial when on and the evidence that was presented I’m sorry to inform you that is not shown. The movie only haves to scenes in court, one at the beginning and at the end of the movie. If you have any previous knowledge about the case then you will know how the movie ends. The only real evidence of the case is shown at the end credits so don’t leave so soon.
In general is another basic The Conjuring movie. It has the material to become a horror movie night with friends if they get scare really easy. Other than that is not the type of movie that you will want to rewatch on a daily basis. I give this movie a 2/5 and a 4/10. It’s far from being a good movie, it’s just decent.
