The Forever Purge (2021) spoiler free review
The Forever Purge is finally here! The fifth on the franchise and probably the last one ever. This is a spoiler free review.
The Annual Purge has begun
On the run from a drug cartel, a Mexican couple battle vicious thugs who plan to continue the violent tradition of the now-outlawed Purge.
Official plot
With a length of 1 hour and 43 minutes The Forever Purge bring what could be the last image of what the purge is. And I said could be because it’s said that is the last movie of the franchise but that is not always true when it comes to horror movies. This fifth installment serves as a direct sequel of The Purge: Election Year (2016).
The film goes around a Mexican couple and a white rich family on the state of Texas as they both prepare to pass the purge night. The night happens but after 12 hours for some the purge is not over. For some The Purge is Forever.
My opinion
The movie serves it purposes of being entertainment. The best movie of the year? Absolutely not. The worst? Not either, is on a middle level. On my personal opinion this should be the last one. It has an open ending but not an cliff hanger or enough room for continuing showing the purge experience. On this particular film racism and white supremacy is shown, how Americans see the Mexicans and Afroamerican community. Sensitive topics this days but at the same time the reality that is experienced. The movie serves as a social criticism on their own way. A risky move with an uncertain motive.
