My opinion
The moment I saw the trailer, read the plot, and saw the cast I knew that this film was going to be a good one. From the social commentary to the brilliant performance of Ralph Fiennes The Menu is a well done black comedy. The film follows a group of strangers that end dining at an exclusive restaurant with a famous and pretentious chef. Celebrities, food enthusiasts, and food critics are there to enjoy not only the food but the expensive culinarily experience.
Each serving and courses are properly presented making the audience feel part of the experience. As the plates become more bizarre the tension rises between the guests and the chef leaving you at the edge of your seat. The comedy feels natural and effortless making it even more enjoyable even for the ones that aren’t fans of it. The Menu is one hour and forty five minutes of pure enjoyment with Fiennes giving an outstanding performance.
The Menu is indeed one of the best films of the year, brings a concept that we have seen before but with a twist that makes it feel brand new. Enjoy this delicious experience now available in theaters.
