Rating: 5 out of 5.

“Till Death do us apart” a phrase we hear a lot between couples, specially on the altar. But, how literal it can be? Well the latest Megan Fox’s horror triller movie tells us all about it. This is the return of Fox to the horror genre since her iconic roll of Jennifer Check on Jennifer’s Body (2009). Available on Amazon Prime Video.

“Happy Anniversary pumpkin”

Emma is stuck in a stale marriage to Mark and is surprised when he whisks her away to their secluded lakehouse for a romantic evening on their 10th anniversary. But everything changes the next morning when she finds herself handcuffed to Mark’s dead body. Trapped and isolated in the dead of winter, Emma learns this is only the beginning of Mark’s twisted plan, and to survive, she must fight the hired killers coming to finish her off.

Official plot

My opinion

I’m going to start by saying how good Megan Fox’s acting was. She’s able to project all her feeling without a word. Her eyes and body language says it all, specially at the beginning of the movie. It’s evident that she doesn’t have feeling for her husband Mark who is a character you will hate from the very first moment he talks. But gladly he’s alive only for 15 minutes on the movie.

The plot is very similar to Stephen King’s story Gerald’s Game but with key differences. While on Gerald’s Game the protagonist ends handcuffed by both hands to the bed and her husband dies in front of her on Till Death Fox’s character Emma wakes up already handcuffed to her husband. Also, Gerald dies unexpectedly while Mark had the whole thing planned from the start. He leaves Emma without any options of leaving or even getting unattached of his corpse.

1 hour and 28 minutes long are enough to create a great horror triller. For me is one of the best horror movies of this year, totally worth the watch.
