Isolation can bring a peaceful life but can also bring dangers that you will have to face alone. In the middle of the storm, Patrick receives a visit from a strange woman who only asks for shelter. Presenting herself as a threat, distrust grows between them as the woman begins to realize that perhaps it was not a good idea to enter a stranger’s house. With a cat and mouse dynamic, Patrick and the strange woman must decide if they can trust each other or if this is a situation that will end badly for one of them.

Taking place in a single location, the film takes us on a psychological journey that takes its time to explain things. Unfortunately, the slow pace of the plot can make it difficult to enjoy if slow burns aren’t your thing. Even though it lacks that trilling feeling that keeps you at the edge of your seat the tense atmosphere buildup is effective and can engage the viewer. The acting is the most outstanding element of the film with Rock and Cowan both giving convincing performances. Surprisingly, the ending provides a resolution to the central mystery, offering a sense of fulfillment, contrary to typical expectations for this genre.

You’ll Never Find Me will be available on Shudder on March 22, 2024.
